We are proud to present another exceptional tomb crafted in our workshop, made from the renowned white Brač stone Sv. Petar. This project is the result of the dedicated and precise work of our entire team, reaffirming our long-standing expertise in the creation of tombs, headstones and contemporary stone design. The concept was developed by Dražen Jakšić, in full agreement with the family, who wished for a memorial enriched with deep personal symbolism.
Like many of our previous tombs, this one carries a strong connection to the family’s heritage and their life’s work. The entire tomb structure is designed to evoke the motif of the sea and waves, a theme often present in our work, yet here interpreted in a completely new and distinctive way. The tomb is composed of several interconnected stone surfaces forming soft, undulating lines. Unlike earlier projects where waves appeared only on the headstone or as a decorative detail, here the entire tomb becomes a continuous stone surface resembling a calm yet living sea horizon – as if its stone mass gently vibrates in the wind.
A unique addition to the composition is the circular stone vase, whose pure geometric form creates a subtle but striking contrast to the flowing wavelike surfaces. Its rounded shape highlights the softness of the surrounding lines while bringing balance between organic and abstract elements.
One of the most captivating features is the central raised panel, shaped like a cresting wave. On it, a series of precisely arranged openings creates both a visual and symbolic effect. When a candle is placed beneath the panel, its light shines through the holes, casting a gentle glow across the stone surface. This creates an intimate and meaningful moment, symbolising an enduring presence and the light of remembrance.
This monumental tomb made of Brač stone once again demonstrates the possibilities of contemporary stonemasonry and the importance of thoughtful design in memorial architecture. The fusion of symbolism, tradition, natural material and artistic expression makes this tomb a dignified, emotional and visually striking place of memory.
