We continue with new editions of our well-known stone bench, designed by Dr Art. Dina Jakšić Pavasović, which has quickly become a recognisable example of contemporary stone design. The bench was first presented at the world-renowned stone fair Marmomac in Verona, where it attracted great interest from visitors, architects and designers. Since then, it has become a regular part of our production, crafted in various material combinations.
The uniqueness of this stone bench lies in its two-part sculptural form: a large curved seating surface combined with a stone table inserted into its central opening. This artistic connection between the two elements creates a distinctive and elegant object that functions both as furniture and as a sculptural piece. It fits perfectly into modern trends in outdoor design and the furnishing of courtyards, where stone elements increasingly define the identity of the space.
To date, we have produced several versions of the bench, each differing in the choice of stone for the table element, creating a refined contrast of colours and textures. One of the most striking combinations includes a seating area made from the white Brač stone Veselje, paired with a darker table element made from Rasotica. Another version uses light Brač stone for the seat and a warm reddish stone from Brač for the table, giving the bench a completely different character.
A key detail of the design is the gently curved seating surface, shaped to follow the natural ergonomics of the human body. This makes the bench exceptionally comfortable – something very rare for furniture made entirely of stone. The integrated stone table adds further practicality, providing a surface for placing glasses while also functioning as a comfortable armrest.
This project confirms that contemporary stone design can be artistic, functional, and perfectly suited to outdoor living. Each new edition of the bench brings a different character, while the core idea remains the same: a harmonious blend of geometry, sculpture and natural stone that enriches any environment.
