Jakšić Gallery in Split – a meeting place of tradition, design and contemporary art

Jakšić Gallery in Split is one of the most recognisable destinations for lovers of art, sculpture and handcrafted stone objects. Located within the business premises of the Sisters of Mercy Convent at Bribirska 10, the gallery represents an extension of the artistic heritage of the Jakšić family, who have nurtured the craft of stonemasonry and fine art on the island of Brač for generations.

Just like the main Jakšić Gallery in Donji Humac, the Split gallery brings together different artistic disciplines in a unified space. Visitors can explore stone sculptures by academic sculptor Lovre Jakšić, known for his expressive forms, refined craftsmanship and contemporary interpretation of Brač stone.

A dedicated area showcases artworks by Doctor of Arts Dina Jakšić, whose vibrant colours and abstract compositions have become a signature of the gallery.

The gallery also features a selection of unique jewellery made from semi-precious stones and silver, created by fashion designer Ida Stipčić Jakšić. Each piece is handcrafted with special attention to the natural structure of the stone.

In addition to artworks, the gallery offers various functional and decorative stone objects, including stone bowls, lamps, washbasins, souvenirs and smaller sculptures — all reflecting the fusion of traditional Brač stone and modern design.

Jakšić Gallery in Split is a space where art, family heritage and contemporary aesthetics come together in harmony, inviting visitors to experience the beauty and uniqueness of authentic craftsmanship.
