New Family Tomb in Dol on the Island of Brač

The new tomb created in our Jakšić stone workshop is another example of exceptional craftsmanship in the field of tomb design, where traditional elements are harmoniously blended with contemporary artistic solutions. Located in Dol on the island of Brač, the tomb immediately attracts attention with its impressive appearance and refined details.

What makes this family tomb particularly special is the successful fusion of classical stonemasonry tradition and modern design. Classical elements, such as the relief of the family coat of arms, are crafted with great precision and deep respect for the symbolism and history of the family. The coat of arms, executed in high relief, serves as a strong visual focal point of the entire composition.

In contrast to the traditional relief, the modern detail of an inlaid glass cross introduces freshness, minimalism and a contemporary artistic approach. The glass cross is elegantly integrated into the monumental headstone, and its contrast with the white Brač stone becomes especially striking under different lighting conditions. This blend of modern aesthetics and century-old craftsmanship makes the tomb unique not only on Brač, but in a wider context as well.

As with all our tomb projects, the entire process—from the initial idea and detailed design to the final execution—was carried out entirely by our workshop. This ensures that every tomb is of the highest quality, durable, and aesthetically perfect.

The new tomb in Dol is a perfect example of how traditional tomb design can evolve towards modern interpretations while staying true to the beauty and durability of natural stone.
