Modern Interpretation of Classical Forms – White Brač Stone Tomb in Muć

We are proud to present a new work from our Jakšić stonemasonry workshop – a tomb in Muć, crafted from white Brač stone. This project highlights a modern interpretation of classical forms, where simple lines and traditional shapes are transformed into contemporary design.

The central element of the tomb is a fissure in the stone that creates a minimalist cross – a symbol of faith and eternity. On the sides of the headstone, vases have been seamlessly integrated, carved from the same stone, blending functionality with aesthetic value. This fusion of modern and classical elements gives the tomb a special harmony and distinctiveness.

In a setting dominated by dark imported stone monuments, the whiteness of Brač stone stands out clearly. This tomb reaffirms the value of our workshop: the union of tradition, contemporary design, and masterful craftsmanship.
