Twenty Years of LoBol Celebrated with an Exhibition by the Jakšić Family

The twentieth anniversary of LoBol, an intimate artistic gathering lovingly organised in the home of Ivica Karninčić, was marked this year with a special exhibition by the Jakšić family. Over the years, this privately hosted event has become a unique meeting point for artists, art lovers, and friends, and this year’s edition was further enriched by the works of three members of the Jakšić family.

In the beautifully arranged courtyard of the Karninčić home, visitors were presented with works that reflect both the diversity and the deep artistic connection within the Jakšić family. Designer Ida Stipčić Jakšić exhibited handcrafted jewellery made of semi-precious stones and silver, while sculptor Lovre Jakšić showcased his stone sculptures carved from white Brač limestone – expressive, powerful, and rooted in the long tradition of stonemasonry. Visual artist Dina Jakšić exhibited her oil paintings, vibrant in colour and abstract in form, adding a contemporary energy to the setting.

The exhibition was opened by actress Anja Šovagović and former Minister of Culture Božo Biškupić, who emphasised the importance of private art initiatives that enrich the cultural life of the island of Brač.

The Jakšić family extends special thanks to Ivica Karninčić – for a wonderful experience, for the invitation and warm welcome into his home, and for the opportunity to exhibit alongside remarkable sculptures by the greatest names of the Croatian art scene.
