Family Tomb Šupraha – collaboration that pushes the boundaries of stone design

Our workshop often has the opportunity to collaborate with architects whose ideas redefine traditional stone design, and the family tomb Šupraha is an excellent example of such a partnership. The project was designed by architect Ivan Šupraha, whose clear vision shaped the concept, while the entire execution was entrusted to our team, with whom architects have been working for many years.

Once the architect sets the concept, our task is to ensure that even the most demanding ideas can be transformed into a precise and durable stone form. The Šupraha family tomb is exactly that type of project – technically challenging, yet achievable thanks to the experience of our workshop and the long-term synergy we have developed with architectural studios.

The Jakšić Stone Workshop has long served as a reliable partner to architects throughout Croatia. Many of our collaborative projects can be found on the island of Pag, where we have created a large number of tombs of different styles and typologies. Although Pag stands out in quantity, our tombs are present throughout the entire country – from Dalmatian islands and coastal cemeteries to Zagreb and even internationally, confirming the quality and trust we have built over decades.

The Šupraha family tomb is characterised by a clear, contemporary approach to stone shaping. The emphasis is on precision, large formats, and technically complex monolithic elements that require exceptional craftsmanship. Although the architectural concept is minimalist, the execution demanded great expertise, especially in the treatment of white Brač stone whose purity of line becomes a defining visual element.

This tomb is another confirmation of a successful collaboration with architects and proof that even the most ambitious ideas can be realised in our workshop – from the first sketch to the final piece installed on site.
