The recent presentation of the new book Architectural Traces, written by renowned architect and our long-time friend Jerko Rošin, gathered many distinguished guests and admirers of contemporary Croatian architecture. Rošin’s professional work is marked by a deep sensitivity to space, tradition and natural materials – especially stone – which makes him one of the most recognisable authors in the field. Throughout his career, he has shaped numerous private and public spaces, always emphasising authenticity, local identity, and the lasting value of well-crafted architectural solutions.
The promotion attracted a large audience, adding to the festive atmosphere of the event. Several notable speakers presented their reflections on the book, highlighting the architect’s dedication to space as well as the rich visual material featured in the publication. We are especially proud that many of our stone works were included, the result of our long-standing and very successful collaboration with Jerko.
We are honoured to say that Jerko Rošin is the author of our family house in Donji Humac, as well as numerous other projects where we participated as stonework contractors. Many beautiful private villas and their stone details were created through this collaboration, and several of them are showcased in the new book.
In Architectural Traces, our house and gallery are given special attention, presented through a series of photographs showing the most interesting details of our living and working environment. Among them is the wavy stone wall in our courtyard – designed with integrated grooves for sculptures – which has become a symbol of our work and a constant source of inspiration. As Jerko writes, the courtyard represents the true centre of life: a place of meeting, creation, and an ongoing connection with stone.
This book promotion reaffirmed the value of a long-term partnership and filled us with pride knowing that our stone craftsmanship has been permanently documented in such an important work of Croatian architecture.
