Test Assembly of a Tomb in Our Workshop – A Key Step in High-Quality Tomb Construction

In our stonemasonry workshop Jakšić, we have just completed the test assembly of a tomb, an important phase that precedes the final installation at the cemetery. Although this step is rarely performed in standard stonemasonry practice, for us it has become an essential part of the professional tomb construction process. The reason is simple: it allows the client to see the tomb in advance, while enabling us to ensure absolute precision of all joints and details before the final installation.

This procedure is especially important when the tomb is being made for clients abroad or when the gravestone needs to be installed at a remote location. The test assembly allows us to resolve technical challenges beforehand and ensures that the final installation runs smoothly.

The tomb we are currently preparing is crafted from massive, aged white Brač stone, known for its durability and elegance. The design carries traditional characteristics, refined with a contemporary aesthetic. Particularly notable are the rich stone profiles, clearly defined lines and perfectly executed joints that give the tomb monument a sense of dignity and permanence.

The main element is a raised stone slab with engraved inscriptions, while the vertical gravestone is shaped with a simple yet striking stone cross integrated into the surface. Next to it is a carved stone flower vase, made from a single block, balancing the richness of the composition through subtle simplicity.

This tomb is the result of close collaboration with the client, who had a clear vision of the desired family grave. With our expertise, we transformed their wishes into a feasible design, enhanced by several professional modifications that improved both form and function.

The test assembly once again confirms our dedication to precision, quality, and the professional creation of tombs that last for generations.
