Work in progress at private villa in Split

14.03.2015.

Beginning of Works on the Villa in Meje

Work has begun on an impressive villa in the Meje district of Split, designed by architect Lada Vrdoljak. Known for her refined architectural expression and balanced blending of contemporary and traditional elements, Vrdoljak is one of the notable names of the younger generation of Croatian architects. Our collaboration with her is not new — together we have successfully completed several projects, including the well-known villa in Gripe, also in Split.

The villa on Meje stands out with its distinctive architectural concept that unites modern geometry with recognisable classical touchpoints. One of the most interesting details already in the process of installation is the series of stone round windows, a motif that strongly defines the façade rhythm. The execution of these circular openings in stone is particularly demanding, requiring precise preparation, exact curvature profiling, and careful mounting. Having already produced such elements on multiple occasions, our workshop approaches this task with accumulated experience and confidence.

The project is technically challenging both in scale and in the complexity of its individual elements. Our role includes the fabrication and installation of all stone works on the exterior and interior of the villa. As work progresses, large stone panels for the façade cladding, architectural details and structural stone elements are gradually taking their place, shaping the future character of the building.

With the start of works on this new project, we are pleased to continue a successful partnership and contribute once again to architecture that values craftsmanship, precision and the timeless beauty of stone.
